Helen Day

I am the Chair of Trustees for Counselling4Yeovil. I have been the Chair of Trustees from the inception of Yeovil Pregnancy Crisis Counselling, out of which C4Y has grown. I am a GP and through my work am very aware of the considerable need for counselling in the community. I am pleased to be part of a vision to provide affordable access to quality counselling in this region. The NHS provides an invaluable service, but there are waiting lists and sometimes people want something slightly different or for longer. I hope we will be able to provide an alternative should people need it.

I was born in West London (near Heathrow Airport I always say). I am married to Martin, a writer, and we have two grown up children – one at university, and one going shortly. Our youngest daughter was born in Yeovil, and Martin and his family have deep roots in the area. We have lived here for over 20 years and are part of the YCC community.
